CLOVERDALE, IN -- On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Cowpokes Work & Western signed a long-term partnership contract with C Bar C Expo Center as their official naming sponsor of the facility. This marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in C Bar C and Cowpokes’ future, as part of the partnership includes the construction of a second location of the Cowpokes retail brand onsite at C Bar C. Construction is set to begin this fall, with an anticipated opening in Summer 2022.
“We couldn’t be more excited to put down roots for our second location in Cloverdale,” Cowpokes owner Jeff Boone shared on Tuesday. “We have spent many years coming here as a vendor, horse show parent, and equine enthusiasts, and we know the strength this facility has in the livestock industry. As a long-term partner and now permanent retail presence onsite, we look forward to serving the loyal C Bar C event attendee and local community with a great selection of brands and products that fit their lifestyle and needs.”
The 7,000 square foot retail store will feature the quality and style of the almost 30-year-old brand very similarly to its Anderson headquarters, with a large selection of denim, boots, apparel, and tack offerings for the whole family. It will be directly connected to the existing facility, but with its own entrance and access so that the general public can shop the store even if an event is not taking place at C Bar C.
Meanwhile, C Bar C Expo Center will officially update its name to the Cowpokes Arena at C Bar C Expo Center. With a secondary entrance constructed alongside the retail store, C Bar C will continue to offer its event attendees convenience and accessibility. With this additional amenity, C Bar C looks forward to adding to its longtime standing as one of the excellent equine and livestock facilities in Indiana.
“We are proud to be partnering with Cowpokes and the Boone family on such an important project.” Said Carl Harlan, Owner of C Bar C. “The Cowpokes brand will bring even more credibility to our business than what we’ve already developed. It has taken a lot of meetings and planning to get this put together, but through those meetings Cindy and I have become very comfortable with the character and business sense of Jeff and Lynnette Boone. This deal will have a huge impact for the future of both businesses. I want to give special recognition to our marketing director Brice Howell who came up with this idea and helped get it put together.”
Event operations will continue to take place at C Bar C throughout construction, with little to no facility interruption. Cowpokes will also continue to have headquartered operations out of its Anderson location but are already making preparations to have inventory in place as soon as they are able. Hiring for the new retail store will begin in the spring of 2022, offering part-time and full-time employment with a variety of opportunities. In addition, Cowpokes will work diligently alongside the C Bar C staff to host the Expo event attendees while also working to add value to the local economy.
